10 Underrated Redheaded Anime Characters

Recently, we offered a list of 10 of the Best Redheads in Anime, highlighting both popular and underrated redheads in anime.

However, there are many additional redheaded anime characters that rarely get the attention they deserve.

Today, we’re highlighting 10 underrated redheaded anime characters who either missed our previous list or deserve some additional recognition.

In no particular order, here is our list:

10 Underrated Redheaded Anime Characters

10. Karma: Assassination Classroom

Perhaps the least underrated character on this list, Karma from Assassination Classroom is a bit of a troublemaker. He’s unpredictable and often a bit unnerving, and his bright hair color certainly reflects his boldness. However, like most characters in the anime, he undergoes character growth and becomes an essential part of E Class.

9. Asano: Assassination Classroom

Asano from Assassination Classroom may be the nemesis of E Class, but his character growth and rocky relationship with his dad add additional depth to the anime and show us what life is like for those outside of E Class.

8. Reina: Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life!?

Reina’s fiery, bold hair matches her personality perfectly. She’s feisty and highly skilled at magic. In Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life!?, she may be one of the strongest personalities in the Crimson Vow, but she also has one of the largest hearts.

7. Kagari: Steins;Gate 0

We highlighted Steins;Gate’s Makise Kurisu in our previous list of redheaded anime characters. However, one of the secondary characters in Steins;Gate 0, Kagari, is also a redhead and resembles Kurisu. Kagari’s presence connects the past and future in a way that dramatically changes and complicates things for the Future Gadget Lab.

6. Hwa Ryun: Tower of God

Hwa Ryun from Tower of God is not particularly likable, but her red hair identifies her as a member of the Red Witches. She works for FUG, an organization that causes many problems for the protagonist, Baam. While she may not be the most likable character, her presence adds conflict, which is necessary for a good plot.

5. Kyle Salutania: The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent

Prince Kyle Salutania is not the most likable character in The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent. In fact, he causes the main character, Sei, a ton of issues. His bright red hair matches his impulsive personality.

Two girls are summoned to save his kingdom, and it’s too early to know which one is the destined saint. He immediately decides that one of the girls, Aira, is the saint, completely overlooking Sei. This is both rude and disrespectful. Things work out great for Sei–no thanks to Kyle.

4. Handler: Spy x Family

Handler is Loid’s boss in Spy x Family. Handler is Loid’s boss in Spy x Family. Her ginger hair is subtler than some of the other redheads on this list, but she is a very strong, serious, and determined boss. Although she’s a supporting character, her influence on the story is significant.

Without her assigning Loid to Operation Strix, there would be no Forger family.

3. Hiroto Suwa: Orange

By far one of my favorite redheads, Suwa from Orange may have the boldest hair in his friend group, but he is relatively easygoing and selfless, contrasting bright hair with a humble personality.

2. Sengoku: Horimiya

Sengoku is the student council’s president in Horimiya. He’s very intelligent and, although his hair color may often seem bolder than his personality, he occasionally gets involved in questionable schemes and accusations.

However, despite this, he has a big heart. His girlfriend, Remi, seems like the complete opposite of him, but he deeply cares for her and her outcast best friend, Sakura.

1. Shindou: Horimiya

Shindou was Miyamura’s only childhood friend. His ginger hair is one of the tamer hair colors in Horimiya (they have bright green-haired characters), but his personality is far from average. Although he’s a supporting character, he’s the first person who truly welcomed Miyamura and played an important role in his life.

Redheaded anime characters come in all kinds of personalities, from heroes and mentors to rivals and villains. Whether they’re main characters or supporting cast members, many of these underrated anime redheads leave a lasting impression on their stories.
