As a Christian anime fan since 2023, I’ve done my share of research into anime for Christians. I’ve found countless lists, posts, and other resources with suggestions, but sometimes the suggestions aren’t great. Everyone has a different definition of what “safe anime for Christians” really is, and although there are some great suggestions out there, they aren’t always reliable.
I wanted to make my own list of anime to consider watching as a Christian. I am not making a conclusive “these anime are 100% safe for every Christian” claim, and I want to back my recommendations up with evidence instead of making blanket claims. That’s why, when applicable, we link to our own reviews of the series so you can do a deep dive and prayerfully consider the shows on this list.
We know everyone has different levels of sensitivity, and outside of sin area issues (aka non-negotiables) we understand that people’s convictions will be different. Therefore, our list really serves as suggestions of anime that Christians may enjoy watching. Not every anime on this list is going to be wholesome and light; some may deal with dark or mature themes and may have content that not every Christian will be comfortable with.
That’s why we write reviews–to go deeper than just giving a random list of titles. We want you to use this list as a starting point so you can do your own research and decide if a particular anime is right for you.
